Monthly Scraps - July/August/September 2017

Scrappy batch from last few months. Enjoy (or don't... whatever man).

These sketches are kind of inspired by what I was doing at the time - mostly watching films :D
That's the one of the advantages of having two screens.

I've no idea where these come from ^^

That on the other hand is a rip-off of the Yeseo - Million Things album cover.
An album itself is 28 minutes long, and so was the painting process.

Some action films and stuff.

That one I did while watching Pumping Iron.
I don't like it one bit but hey - it's the Monthly Scraps series - that makes it the perfect place for all the trash.

Birdman again...

The last Samurai^^ Film was good. So good that I didn't feel like painting while watching so there's only rough storyboard like sketch.

Tnspired by some fantasy book and maybe a little bit by Lucifer TV show^^

One and only Pulp Fiction. Gosh - I love that film.
I got kind of carried while painting Vincent and now he resembles Emhyr var Emreis more then Travolta...

Some random trash^^

I did some 3D stuff too, but I don't feel li9ke showing it yet. Maybe next time.

That's it,
So long.

Montlhy Scraps - July 2016

Since July the 1st I've filled up 21 pages in my sketchbook.
Slightly less than last month, but still more than I was filling up before all that blog thingy' happened.

Any ways - it's time for monthly scraps so lets get to it.

1. I was changing his hand 5 or 6 times, but I got stuck with this... whatever this is.

2. Drawing poses from imagination. I started with stick figure in every case.
I was changing them bit by bit, but in the and I just got stuck at muscle guy on the right.

Oh.. and I forgot to save his stick figure... so you'll get incomplete process, and YUP - that gets worse and worse

3. Sketch taken from sketchbook.

That thing made me super angry. I have finally figured out what exactly is wrong with my tablet, but I learned it hard way.

That image presents the difference between eraser tip of my stylus and its drawing tip 'tho the drawing tip is not the top one...

My eraser has still 1024 levels of pressure, but the other one has only 2.

4. If you've seen Monthly Scraps from May (click if you haven't) you may recognize this.
I pushed it just a bit and I definitely know I have to get rid of that anime-ish proportions.

My resolution for this month is to learn how to draw hair like a total noob.

Angry Panda for the long post

So long

Monthly scraps - May 2016

Guess who's back!

I've got some stuff for you. Not much but still something.

1. Since my tablet lost initial levels of pressure sensitivity I had to came up with a way of blending colours/values that doesn't depend on pen sensitivity as much as standard airbrush whatsoever.
That's basically test of mixer brush. Nothing fancy. Just test.

2. Another test. The test of my patience this time. I mean sketching with partially working pen pressure... Pain in the ass. Took maybe 5 minutes before I quit.
And yes, she has feet that long. Yes, that's mistake I didn't notice.

3. That dude - you may see a bit more rendered version of him somewhen in the future.

4. Oh, and that one... That supposed to be some kind of children book cover. I mean that's just a sketch but I want to render that bit more.

Aren't they pretty? Ok, they aren't.
But as I said it's not about me drawing nice, but about me drawing better and better every month(hopefully). Even if the progress is so slow you can't even notice - I can.
At this point I'm filling 30+ A4 pages per month. 2 months ago it wasn't more than 15. Consistency improved.
I know I suck at anatomy (look at these sketches LOL), values, colours and stuff but It won't stop me.

PS. I'll be posting more of old stuff this month.

Old stuff 2

Five days since I posted something, and guess what... You guessed right - I have nothing new to share.

I made few "value studies", though they suck balls so much I need some time to put them here. I mean some refining, aka redrawing whole image until it's good enough.

Fear not! I got something though. Plenty of stuff that sucks balls even more.

For example that lil' fella you all should know:

I've found Peter's Dinklage promotional photo in Google - simple as that. Simple, low-resolution, black&white studies. You can see a construction lines, and all that stuff. I really like to have that sketch layer not entirely covered, even if at my level of drawing that looks just messy. I don't give a crap. Period.

Another value studies:

Guy who did this is certainly good at what he's doing. I was drawing few of his sculptures as a studies. For these who are interested - here's the link to  his DA

That's just a bunch of random drawings from the back of my head:

More like warm-up sketches huh... crappy, and old, and crappy, but that running stickman tho'

Oh.. and I've got that, for these of you, who think I'm drawing only the faces:
I couldn't decide what pose I like the most, so I scraped that. Maybe one day I'll render that, or at least give her a face... and clothes.

For you it may be not such a big deal. For you it may be not worth a second of your time. For you it may look like 10 years old kid's drawing, but hey - when I was starting 2 years ago I was drawing like 5 years old kid... I'm never that positive. Hope I won't be sick.

I'll post something when it's ready.

In the meantime
May the force be with you!
